Job Overview:

As part of our exciting digital transformation journey, we are seeking a Senior Business Analyst – SAP FICO with deep expertise in SAP Controlling and working knowledge of Financial Accounting. The position will serve as the organization’s primary functional resource for product costing, manufacturing controlling, cost-centre accounting, period-end activities, and related cross-functional integration. The successful candidate must be capable of independently configuring solutions, resolving complex costing issues, and partnering directly with Finance and Operations stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead functional resource for SAP Controlling, with secondary responsibility for supporting Financial Accounting processes in SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, identify process gaps, and design scalable “to-be” finance and controlling processes.

  • Configure, test, deploy, and support SAP CO capabilities, including:

    • Cost center and profit center accounting

    • Internal orders

    • Product cost and cost estimates

    • Material ledger and actual costing, where applicable

    • Component structures and cost variants

    • Activity types, statistical key figures, allocations, assessments, and distributions

    • Work-in-process, variance calculation, settlement, and period-end closing

    • Profitability analysis—CO-PA

    • Manufacturing-cost and inventory-valuation integration

  • Provide working-level support for SAP FI processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, banking, intercompany transactions, and financial period-end closing.

  • Lead the functional design of integrations between SAP FICO and PP, MM, SD, IM/WM/EWM, as well as boundary systems such as Salesforce, Oracle, banking platforms, tax applications, and reporting solutions

  • Analyze complex product-costing, inventory-valuation, manufacturing-variance, settlement, and financial-posting issues; perform root-cause analysis and drive issues through resolution

  • Support Finance and Operations during month-end and year-end closing, including issue resolution, reconciliations, cost roll activities, WIP, variance calculation, settlement, allocations, and financial validation

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for workflows, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms—WRICEF—and collaborate with technical teams through development and deployment

  • Lead FICO data-migration activities, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, mock conversions, cutover planning, and production-load verification using SAP-approved migration tools and integrated data platforms

  • Develop test strategies and scripts; lead unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, and financial reconciliation

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex SAP CO and FI production issues and provide advanced functional troubleshooting across integrated business processes

  • Ensure solutions comply with internal controls, audit requirements, segregation-of-duties principles, financial governance, and established SAP design standards

  • Maintain functional documentation, configuration rationale, process flows, operating procedures, and support materials

  • Provide knowledge transfer, coaching, and functional guidance to internal SAP Finance team members and business process owners, reducing dependency on external resources

  • Identify opportunities to standardize finance and controlling processes, minimize custom development, improve system stability, and strengthen operational reporting

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; MBA preferred

  • 8+ years of SAP FICO experience within a SAP ECC Enviornment, with at least 5 years of substantial hands-on SAP CO configuration and support

  • Real life project experience in product costing within a manufacturing environment. Not a pilot or test project.

  • Practical knowledge of standard cost estimates, cost component structures, costing variants, activity rates, WIP, variances, settlement, and period-end closing

  • 5+ years strong understanding of integration among CO, PP, MM, SD, FI, and inventory management

  • Experience supporting 1-2 full SAP implementations or major transformation lifecycles

  • 2+ years working knowledge of FI processes sufficient to support cross-functional design and troubleshoot accounting postings

Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated hands-on SAP Controlling experience is essential. Candidates whose experience is predominantly limited to FI, AP, AR, or GL support will not meet the primary requirements of this position

  • S/4HANA Finance and Universal Journal experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with IT and business stakeholders while prioritizing overall team and business outcomes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presenting, with the ability to listen effectively and present complex topics clearly

  • Ability to work independently. Take ownership of deliverables, and provide knowledge transfer and functional guidance to internal team members

  • Ability to communicate effectively with controllers, plant finance teams, operations leaders, and technical teams
