Job Overview:
We are seeking a General Line Account Manager to join our Compression Systems and Services Customer Center team in Seattle, WA. This role will be responsible for driving equipment sales and service activities within a specific territory: 12 counties in northwest Washington. The position will involve quoting, strategizing, prospecting, and developing relationships to achieve revenue targets, maximize profits, increase market share, and maintain customer loyalty while meeting organizational goals. This position uniquely blends supporting a major distributor and selling directly to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for generating sales of equipment, service contracts, and service offerings to a defined customer base within a geographic area.
  • Develop existing customer base and secure new accounts to expand Ingersoll Rand’s presence in the market.
  • Provide and design compressed air solutions to meet industrial customer needs.
  • Products include compressed air equipment, accessories, turnkey installations, service contracts, parts, service, rental equipment, and energy audits.
  • Stay current with product knowledge, industry standards, and required training.
  • Execute strategies for continuous improvement and exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve all assigned sales targets.
  • Provide selling skills and product/services training for dealer sales personnel and customer center staff.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an industrial sales business setting.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.

  • Establishes and builds solid relationships with customers, key institutions, and team members.
  • Honest, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Mechanical and electrical expertise required.


Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business.
  • Proven business and sales acumen, including the ability to prospect accounts, effectively navigate within a customer organization, value sell, and win competitive accounts.
  • Must have excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Tech-savvy; knowledge of Salesforce preferred.


Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

  • Regional travel to customer sites is required daily within assigned geographic territory.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI in the previous 5 years; Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions in the previous 3 years.
